Our new home in the home of golf
We have secured a ten-year lease on the Dunes Golf Centre which is a covered, floodlit driving range with a café/restaurant and golf shop.
We also have a fantastic short game area and are in the process of building a state of the art indoor studio.
It is located just to the south of the fishing town of Fraserburgh, right next door to the golf club which is the seventh oldest in the world, having formed in 1777.
The centre has been closed for a month or so now and we are set to officially take over on September 1, although Billy and Emma will be heading North before then as Billy starts at Rosehearty School on August 18.
Last week we went up on a house hunting trip and found ourselves a wonderful property that is within 75 yards of the first tee at Rosehearty Golf Club and has spectacular views out to the North Sea.
It is within walking distance of Billy’s school and is only 10 minutes along the coast from the Golf Centre. Billy is really excited about the move and loves his new school having met his teacher and class-mates last Friday.
We are both looking forward to our new challenge and Emma is already practising baking cakes that she will be serving in the café. I know it will be great for business but the Victoria Sponge, lemon drizzle and chocolate fudge cakes are doing nothing to reduce my expanding waistline!
Less than one hour away from the centre is my good friend, fellow PGA Pro and Yorkshireman James Calam and his family so it was great to catch up with them and have a beer or two.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers and the members of Hainsworth Park Golf Club who have been absolutely fantastic.
We have made many friends and we will miss you all and I hope we can stay in touch.

I wish Hainsworth Park Golf Club all the very best for the future, I have spent over nine very happy years there and I am extremely grateful for the opportunities and experiences I have gained in my time at the club.
Once again may I remind you to spend any shop credit and vouchers as soon as possible and if you have any lessons remaining on a package then get booked in before it is too late. Call (01964) 542362 (Ext 1).
