DANBY Quoit Club held its handicap individual last Saturday, attracting a decent entry.
Despite the blustery conditions, competitors produced some good play.
Home player Brian Mould knocked out world runner-up Mike Mendelsohn in the first round, 21-20.
The semis saw Mould play Ugthorpe’s Ian Carr in another tight game with Carr, winning 21-19 at the final end.
The other semi was more straightforward with Fylingthorpe’s Paul Dixon beating Richard Leak 21-0.
The final provided some good entertainment for the crowd with both players topping ringers at every opportunity, but it was Dixon who came out on top 21-15 to claim his fourth win of the season.
