SOME good individual scores were not enough to result in good Team performances which can only be described as mediocre.

Whilst Jackie Hay shot a 99 for Esk Valley, the best performance of the week was a 97 by Jon Stokoe his best for Wrong Trousers since gaining promotion to A League in 2009.

Disappointment of the week was Country Lads defeat by Average. Despite two 98s from father and son combination, Derek and Sam Atkinson, they could not overcome shooting a man short when fifth member, Robert Lamerton, failed to shoot.

In Division B, an unspectacular but solid team performance by Patch was more than enough to see off previously unbeaten Watkinson’s by a comfortable seven points with no-one on either side scoring more that a modest 94.

Watkinson’s, however, retain the leadership of Division B by virtue of their higher aggregate score.

Firemen recorded their second win of the season by the narrowest possible margin over Average.

Firemen owe their win to Paul Cattermole who shot an excellent 98 in a welcome upsurge of form.

Work commitments prevented David Hill from shooting in the first two rounds but an invaluable 98 underlined his value to the Farmers team and was more than enough to inflict a second defeat for Universal who suffered badly by the absence of Joe Hugill, potentially the strongest member of their team.
