Comment of the week:

Another great Ryder Cup from the European perspective!

As someone who started following golf in the 60s, the European success in recent years is a constant amazement to me, and a balm to my golfing soul.

So what can we learn from that? Certainly that success in a team format is more than just being a good player – you have to be a real team player as well.

The remarkable captain who seemed to include everyone in the team-building, the players, their wives and caddies, even bringing in inspirational figures like Sir Alex Ferguson to speak to the team, was a massive part of the European team success.

So any time you play in any form of team golf at your club, do your best to work together to achieve your best results.
