BECKETT LEAGUE: Kirkby net 224-run win at Heslerton

Kirkbymoorside hammered Heslerton 2nds by a massive 224 runs to stay top of the Readers Scarborough Beckett League Division Three table.

The away side batted first and made a huge 297-4, Martin Charlton leading the way with an unbeaten 99.

Charlton needed just one run off the final ball to complete his century, but the ball flew away for four byes to prevent him the opportunity.

Adam Magson's superb 80 and 28 from Martin Thompson also helped Kirkby post a massive total as the Heslerton bowling attack toiled, Jonathon Duffill having some success with 4-77.

Magson then contributed with the ball after his superb knock, taking 3-11 as Heslerton were all out for just 73 despite 25 from Kelsea Dent.

Seasoned all-rounded Phil Metcalfe proved to be the difference between the sides as Seamer 2nds beat Wykeham 2nds by 37 runs.

Metcalfe was the only batsman on show to make a big contribution, his 47 helping Seamer to 154-8 as Scott Wardman took 3-31.

Steve Winwood's 3-20 helped Seamer bowl Wykeham out for just 117 in reply.

Muston beat Nawton Grange 2nds by 26 runs.

Phil Marr hit 27 as Muston made 142 all out, James Dunn taking 4-32.

Matthew Kings then took 4-32 to help bowl Nawton out for just 86.

Flamborough hammered Ryedale by 108 runs.

Matthew Emmerson made 52 not out and was ably assisted by 37 from Luke Dixon and 31 from Graham Harvey as Flamborough posted 191-7.

Only Chris Hugill contributed with the bat for Ryedale with 27 as they were all out for 83, A Stadler taking 4-27.

Michael Kipling put in a superb performance with ball and ball to help Division Four leaders Snainton to an 85-run win against Cayton 3rds.

Kipling smashed 48 as Snainton made 202-7, Ben Norman, 34, and Paul Nicholson, 30, also chipping in as N Hodgson, 3-39 and Shakil Iqbal, 3-49 shone with the ball.

Cayton 3rds then had no answer to Kipling, who sliced through their line up to put the icing on the cake for Snainton with 4-33.

Leigh Watson also took 3-46 as only John Hodgson could trouble the scorers with 34 as Cayton were all out for 117.

Sherburn 2nds recorded a massive 140-run win against Filey 2nds to stay second.

Ben Simpson fired a stunning 88 not out as Sheburn posted 197-7, Kev Lickes also adding 26.

Lickes, 5-19 then teamed up with Jonny Pickard, 5-30, to bowl Filey out for just 57.

Mark Kelly was the star man in Hospitals Rugby Club's six-wicket success against Lockton.

Kelly took 3-39 to help skittle Lockton for 115, George Elliott, 3-41, and S Norris, 3-17 also chipping in with wickets as only Gareth Driver troubled the scorers with 25.

Kelly then hit 36 as Hospitals made it to 116-4, Marcus Edwards also hitting 30 as Si Oxendale's 3-31 wasn't for Lockton, who stay bottom of the table.

Wold Newton 2nds grabbed their first win of the season as they beat Cloughton 2nds by four wickets.

Liam Buglass fired 57 as Cloughton posted 122-4, Chris Hodgson taking 3-40, before S Harrison hit 38 to help Newton to 124-6, despite 4-31 from Mark Pryce.

Valley Bar Nomads' Anosh George, 4-11, and Dave Parkinson, 3-25, helped their side to a seven wicket win at Thornton Dale 2nds to move to the top of the Division Five table.

Dale were all out for just 58 before Nomads made it safely to 59-3.

Wykeham 3rds produced a dominant performance as they cruised past Forge Valley 3rds to move into second place.

Robin Shepherdson’s 5-23 saw Valley all out for 85 despite 25 from Andy Morrell. Wykeham then made it home for the loss of four wickets.

Ganton 2nds amassed a total of 203-6 against Ravenscar 2nds, Dan Reardon top-scoring with 76.

Richard Horsman added 39 and Freddie Lockwood made 30 while Jon Stokoe bowled well for Ravenscar, taking 3-29.

Superb bowling from Joel Sarup, 4-7 and Gareth Mills. 3-7, saw Ravenscar all out for 53 in reply.

Muston 2nds claimed victory at Scalby 3rds.

The away side made 179-5 with John Precious top-scoring with 84 and Dave Meer adding 55 as spinner Toby Pearce took 3-34.

In reply Scalby's Stuart Rowland top scored with 40 and youngster Luke Howland hit 28 not out, but they fell 47 runs short on 132-9, Barry Anderson taking 4-16 for the victors.
