Children from 14 primary schools in the Whitby area took part in the annual years three and four cricket tournament at Mulgrave Cricket Club.
Pupils from Airy Hill, West Cliff, Stakesby, East Whitby, Sleights, Ruswarp, Lythe, Fylingdales, Egton, Oakridge, Lealholm, Danby, Castleton and Glaisdale battled it out over the day, showing some great cricket skills.
Year nine sports leaders from Eskdale School took on the task of umpiring and scoring the games and keeping the competition flowing.
The three teams who came out on top were East Whitby, Ruswarp and Lealholm who each won their school size group.
They then competed in a knockout to find one winner to represent Whitby at Dunnington Cricket Club, York, on 26 June - and the honour went to Lealholm.
School sports co-ordinator Caroline Watson said: “A big thank you to all who helped to make the event a success and a special mention to Douggie and Irene Raine for all their hard work.”
Junior training sessions are held at Mulgrave on a Thursday night at 6pm.
