Isaac Grunwell was the star of the show as Scarborough under-11s cruised to victory against Pickering B in their cup clash.

Grunwell hit 24 not out along with support from Jack Marcroft, 18 not out, to move Scarborough to 274-4, Ed Cook taking 1-4 and Sam Hills 1-6.

Pickering couldn’t contend with the bowling of Grunwell, 2-0, Marcroft, 1-13, and Ryan Taylor, 1-10, as they finished on 230-6 in reply.

Pickering A advanced after beating Driffield by 53 runs.

Isaac Edmond, 23no, and Ryan Vance, 18no, helped the Pikes to a commanding 309-2 before Vance, 1-3, Morgan Elven, 1-3 and M Bowes, 1-5, helped halt the Driff reply on 256-6.

Wykeham are also through, they beat Nawton Grange by 11 runs after their 257-2 proved narrowly out of reach for Grange, 246-3.

Elven and Vance were also in fine form when Pickering A hammered their B team by 172 runs in their Under-11s Zone Two clash.

Joe Barker, 35no, Elven, 27no, and Vance, 15no, boosted Pikes to a huge 346-1.

Vance then took 2-1 as he accompanied Callum Pepper, 3-1, Joe Barker, 2-4 and Joe Dawson, 1-10, to dismiss their club rivals for 174.

Grunwell was also in superb form as he took 2-1 in Scarborough under-13s beat Flixton in their Zone One league clash.

Grunwell’s spell, alongside 2-7 from Freddie White and 2-10 from Gregor Fraser saw Flixton finish on 46-8, before Edward Hopper retired on 25 to help Scarborough safely to 48-3.

Dan Boyes was in fine form with both bat and ball as Forge Valley beat Bridlington.

Boyes took 4-2 as Brid were restricted to 59-6 before he hit 25 in Valley’s 60-3.

Seamer hammered Scalby as both their batsmen and bowlers chipped in with notable performances.

Callum Seastrum and Tom Greenwood both retired on 25 and Archie Graham added 21 as Seamer hit 103-1.

Scalby finished on 30-8, Callum Metcalf taking 2-1 and Matty Walters 2-7.

Sewerby beat Cayton by 60 runs.

Elliot Hatton, 28, Freddie Gunning, 27, and Marc Surtees, 20, all contributed with the bat to help Sewerby reach 110-3, before Chloe Dennis took 2-12 to help stop Cayton reaching their target as they finished on 50-4.

Mulgrave, Kirkbymoorside and Wykeham A were the big winners in Zone Two of the under-13s set-up.

Brad Spiller and Liam Eyre both took 2-2 as Wykeham A beat Wykeham B by 85 runs.

Lofti Berkache hit 26 and Tom Owen 21 as the A team made 116-4, Jack Norman taking 2-7.

But Spiller and Eyre shone with the ball to help the A team to the win.

Mulgrave’s Nick Kelly took 3-10 to restrict Duncombe Park to 52-6 despite Harry Stevens hitting 28.

Kelly then hit 25 not out in reply as he teamed up with Ben Duell, 22no, to knock off the runs without loss of any wickets.

Kirkbymoorside eased past Pickering by four wickets.

Pikes finished on 61-5, H Wood, 2-6, and J Lawson, 2-14, doing the damage despite 17 from J Barker.

Liam Wood’s unbeaten 27 then helped Kirkby to 64-6.

In the Under-16s Premier Division, L Smith was impressive with bat and ball in Flixton’s 13-run win against Pickering.

Smith hit 19 not out as he supported J Harris, 22, in Flixton’s total of 112-5, before he took 2-5 to help restrict Pickering to 99-6, this despite Joe Harland, 32, and M Harland, 30, contributing.

Tom Feather helped Driffield brush aside Duncombe Park by four wickets.

Feather’s 3-26 helped clean up the Park batting line-up as they finished on 102-6, Thomas Fairbairn hitting 21 and Ben Teesdale contributing 17.

In reply, Feather struck 23 not out as he teamed up with Owen Wilson, 21no and Ben Nellist, 19, to ease his side home six wickets down.

E Crusher did his best to squash the Driff sides’ hopes, but his 3-33 proved to be in vain.

Scarborough under-16s' difficult season continued as they were forced to conceded their game against Sewerby.
