Rain, sleet, hail - and a win - were all not expected when Hinderwell arrived at Mulgrave’s excellent facilities - but they got all of those things.
Hinderwell batted first with Jason Steyert and Tom Steyert getting off to a good start and Jamie Baker continuing his good season, top-scoring with 29 not out.
Reece Cole and George Garbutt-Jones made solid contributions and a magnificent cameo from Connor Clennan, including two sixes from the last two balls, left Hinderwell with a score of 121.
The visitors had a breakthrough in the first over with Jay Allison bowling opener Gibson without scoring.
Nobel (46) and Milson (27) set about pushing the runs for Mulgrave and it looked as though they would reach their target.
But in a spirited effort, Hinderwell started to get wickets.
Tight fielding and holding on to catches in terrible conditions started to put the pressure back on Mulgrave and the wickets began to fall - two from Tom Steyert and Jamie Baker and it was left to Reece Cole to knock off the last three wickets for Hinderwell to win by 13 runs.
Most valued player: Reece Cole.
