Fran lands Bedford Trophy for first time

SLEIGHTS Bowling Club held their annual dinner and prize presentation at the Salmon Leap, Sleights, where they enjoyed an excellent meal.

Club president Pat Perry presented the trophies, with dancing to the music of Keith Swales afterwards.

Ladies novice winner: Fran Bogg, r/up Auriol Johnson; men’s novice winner: Colin Lonsdale, r/up Dennis Metcalfe.

Ladies singles winner: Mary Swalwell, r/up Jean Moore; men’s singles winner: Ian Harrison, r/up Colin Gray.

Open singles winner: Eddie White, r/up Paul Shardlow; Captains pairs winners: Steve Harrison and Eric Sanderson,r/up: Mike Harper and Hilda Brown.

Club pairs winners: Keith Thompson and Pat Perry, r/up: Freda Lawson and Olive Tordoff.

Club triples winners: Terry Bogg, Pat Harrison and Bill Dixon, r/up: Mike Harper, Eileen Clark and Denis Welford.

Triples League winners: Steve Harrison, Roly Clark and Bill Dixon, r/up: Ian Harrison, Walter Turner and Betty Dixon.

Gordon Fletcher pairs winners: Steve Harrison and Fran Bogg, r/up: Peter Claypole and Mary Swalwell.

The James Bedford Trophy was presented for the first time to the most improved player of the season: Fran Bogg.
