WITH three of the Fishburn Park under 10s A squad suffering with illness, this was a very good point against a team second in the league.

Park started brightly and were the better team during the first half.

Fergus down the right was always dangerous with his strong running and midway through scored a cracking goal to give the Whitby side a deserved 1-0 lead.

The visitors looked dangerous going forward though and Park needed that goal while they were on top to settle them down.

Northallerton had a super chance before half-time to get back level as the ball flashed across the goal with nobody there to finish off.

The second half was a case of hanging on to what we had as the visitors pushed forward with intent.

Park were looking a little ragged and were lucky to see a couple of really good chances just go wide of the goal to maintain the lead.

With just a few minutes remaining, Northallerton got the equaliser with a neat finish from their dangerous number nine for 1-1 in an exciting game.

Man of the match: Soni Fergus - strong running, and a cracking goal.

PARK’S B team continue to go from strength to strength with a superb victory away to league leaders Redcar Athletic.

Park on the back foot in the opening five minutes were again indebted to the in-form Tiplady in goal.

But the slow start was soon banished with a tremendous effort by all as Fishburn attacked with real threat.

Clennan found his scoring boots again with two goals and Ethan Britton made the points safe with a third.

The sheer pace of the Park breaks was the key factor in this game and the unbeaten run continue.
