In their first home Teesside League match of the season, Staithes dominated from the start, running out resounding winners by eight goals with four in each half.
Steve Starsmore opened the scoring on six minutes with a snapshot from the edge of the area and Starsmore made it 2-0, 10 minutes later, turning in a cross from Ryan Thompson.
Starsmore completed a 20 minute hat-trick with a well-taken third and James Armstrong made it 4-0 on 35 minutes after he converted a through ball from Connor Gazzard.
The second half saw Luke Weed replace the injured Starsmore up front but Staithes picked up where they left off in the first. Armstrong scored his second on 55 minutes when he rounded the keeper to score and 10 minutes later, substitute Weed made six with a fine solo effort.
Armstrong completed the scoring on 70 and 75 minutes with the last goal coming from the penalty spot.
It was an excellent allround team performance from Staithes against a team who had started the day above them in the table.
It was Staithes’ first home match in the Teesside League, having joined this season off the back of winning the Eskvale and Cleveland League & North Riding Cup last season.
The club was presented with its new strip on Saturday from Rod Champion of sponsors Abbey Gas Ltd, Whitby.
Staithes thank Rod, James and the rest of the team for their support.
