Whitby RUFC and Sleights shared the spoils in Wednesday night’s Saturday Leage Division One derby clash.
RUFC created the better chances at their Showfield home, and Sleights’ Andy Hardy and Luke Asbury had already cleared the ball off their own goalline when Lewis Peel gave the hosts the lead midway through the first half.
The visitors hit back almost immediately through Ben Watson’s angled drive, but Sam Richardson nodded in at the back post to restore RUFC’s lead.
Sleights were not finished however, and Ryan Roe saved his side with a late leveller for the second time in two days when he smashed in a free-kick.
James Fawcett could have won the game for the away side at the death, but he was denied by fine save from Jamie Wassall.
Right-back Gary Tuby was named RUFC’s man of the match.
