Fishburn Park came back from 4-2 down to edge an 11-goal thriller in Saturday’s North Riding County Cup.
With the prize a place in the last eight at stake for the winners, Fishburn Park raced into an early 2-0 lead when they entertained Terrington Glory.
Stewart Gregson and Paul Tose scored for Fishburn but the visitors fought back and led 3-2 at half-time.
Fishburn started slowly in the second half and Terrington Glory must have thought they had the game wrapped up when they made it 4-2. But on the hour, Callum Ward made it 4-3, Mark Waterfield levelled and Richard Lane gave Fishburn a 5-4 lead.
The visitors brought the scores level to set up a tense finale, but Waterfield notched his second of the match to secure the Fishburn victory.
