No subs - but Staithes still victorious

STAITHES Athletic could only field 11 players and had no experienced keeper - but still won.

A tight first half was edged by Staithes with Jamie Thompson working well in midfield.

The highlight of the half was a cracking 30 yard drive by Richard Wardwhich gave Staithes a half-time lead.

The second half started at a good pace, with good flowing football end to end.

Stokesley took the lead midway through the half, from a rare strike on goal.

Staithes had to make a change as Simon Bowes swapped his outfield position to play in goal and Andrew Watson went into attack.

The change of position worked as Watson made a superb pass for James Rice to collect the ball on the edge of the penalty area and tuck the ball home to clinch the win.
