WHITBY Town’s poor start to the season continued as they slipped to a bank holiday double defeat.

Darren Williams’ men have now lost all four of their opening league fixtures after a 2-1 loss on the road at Buxton on Saturday was followed up by a 3-1 reverse at home to Blyth Spartans on Monday afternoon.

The Blues conceded twice in the opening seven minutes against Buxton and never recovered before two goals in added time by visitors Blyth meant that former Town boss Tommy Cassidy left the Turnbull Ground with all three points, and sees Whitby mired in the bottom three of the Evo-Stik Premier Division.
