WHITBY youngster Jack Cairns had a day to remember when he led Middlesbrough out for their Championship match against Barnsley.

The seven-year-old got the opportunity to be Boro’s mascot thanks to an initiative which involves local teams - Jack plays for Redcar under sevens in the Teesside Junior Alliance.

Arsenal fan Jack, who is also a pupil at East Whiby School, is pictured leading the ‘Boro team out with skipper Marvin Emnes. He was certainly a lucky mascot - ‘Boro won the match 2-0.
