Hinderwell push title-chasers Lealholm hard

STRUGGLERS Hinderwell put in a brave performance against title-chasing Lealholm and matched the Esk Valley side for the first half, taking the lead with a Chris Mann goal, after the defence failed to clear the ball.

Lealholm hit back with a goal when Tom Raw set up Sam Crooks.

Lealholm moved into the lead with a Darren Harland penalty, only for Hinderwell to level the score just before the interval.

Lealholm dusted off the cobwebs at half-time and came out the better team, quicker to the ball and improved, passing scoring two more goals.

A power drive from Tom Raw hit the bar and Mike Thompson was first to the rebound to fire the ball into the net. Thompson collected his second goal when Crooks played him in to score and dent any hopes of a Hinderwell comeback.
