Hat-trick hero Hegarty buries Brotton

RICHARD Hegarty struck a hat-trick as Goldsborough dominated on a poor pitch.

Goldsborough got off to a great start and netted in the first minute after Brotton keeper Tyreman misjudged his attempt at getting the ball.

The Lythe-based side doubled their lead although Brotton pulled one back prior to the break.

Brotton seemed to lose heart after conceding a third goal and they made three changes but could not stop the rot, with ‘Boro hitting another three to put them 6-1 up.

Daryl Fletcher could have grabbed a consolation but missed a penalty.

For ‘Boro, Jordan Purvis, Stuart Marsay and Callum Brown all netted but the man of the match was hat-trick hero Hegarty.
