GOLDSBOROUGH were left to rue missed chances and slack defending in a game where the margin of victory flattered Hollybush.

Tony Lannon, back in the side for Hollybush, paid off with him scoring within the first five minutes.

This give the hosts that all important confident start.

Lannon was causing trouble for the Goldsborough defence but was unable add to his tally as he saw shots hit the woodwork twice.

Goldsborough battled well and were always in the game and got their reward with a goal from Ross Kriehn, quickly followed by another from Danny Brown in a total turnaround. Hollybush stuck to the task of battling for everything and the hard-working Liam Fox got his reward with a goal.

But the home side missed the chance to take a lead into the interval when Mark Thompson missed a penalty.

In the second half, Hollybush started off well again and capitalised on the chances they created.

Goldsborough had good possession but failed to turn dominance into goals.

Lannon and Fox increased the lead to 4-2, Morgan Cloude got his first goal for Hollybush and Fox completed his hat-trick,

Goldsborough were left to ponder missed opportunities and slack defending.
