GOLDSBOROUGH found Lingdale United in great form and with five goals in each half the home side were unstoppable.

After five minutes, Lingdale took the lead when Danny Harris scored.

Goldsborough replied soon after with a Mike Dent goal.

At this point, Lingdale started to play their quick passing brand of football and with good movement and pace they continually opened up the Goldsborough defence.

Goal-poaching Bob Ovington - who represented Whitby Town’s under 19s - netted himself a hat-trick in the next 35 minutes of play and Andy Smith completed the five-goal haul in the first period of play.

Lingdale continued in the second period in the same vain as the first with Ovington collecting a forth goal, while Smith notch a second for himself.

Goldsborough could not get hold of the ball and struggled to make any impression. Further goals came from Luke Bradley, dependable spot-kick man Jon Kirk stroked home a penalty and Andy Aldick completed the goal rout.
