WHITBY Town’s season could go down to the wire after a late equaliser denied them all three points at home to already-relegated Burscough on Saturday.
The Blues trailed twice then led 3-2 thanks to goals from Tom Portas, Jamie Clarke and Kev Burgess, but were foiled after striker Niall Cummins completed his hat-trick for the visitors five minutes from time.
Whitby, who are only a point above the drop zone, have two games left - away to Matlock on Wednesday (18 Apr) and at in-form Buxton on Saturday (21 Apr.)
They are also awaiting the outcome of an FA dispute which could see them docked one point while Northwich Victoria’s membership of the league has been terminated, which could also have a knock-on effect on the relegation positions.
