FISHBURN under 13s went goals crazy after falling behind in the second minute.
Maybe the shock of this meant the ball wasn’t inside the Fishburn half much for the rest of the game as the midfielders dominated the pitch.
Fishburn’s first goal came on eight minutes when a Callum Halley corner found Owen Grant whose shot was turned in by a defender.
Jack Gale gave Fishburn the lead after 12 minutes when his powerful shot finished off a messy scramble in the box.
Gale then got his second of the game with a terrific flick at the back post from a Chris Hurworth cross. It was then Gale’s turn to head a corner into Hurworth’s path who finsihed with a cheeky flick at the front post.
Ross Taylor had an impressive debut in the Fishburn midfield, scoring his first two goals within two minutes of each other, creating his own space by cutting inside defenders and finished both with powerful strikes.
Gale made it 7-1 at the break with another good pass from Hurworth.
With spirits high, Fishburn started the second half confidently. Four minutes after the break, Taylor played a ball through to Jack Duckling whose strong shot was too powerful for the keeper to hold.
Halley then set up Taylor with a perfect ball into the box, Taylor kept his cool and slotted the ball into the far corner to complete his hat-trick.
Halley made it 10-1 with a brilliant finish from the edge of the box.
The Fishburn defence were caught out straight from kick-off when keeper Kieran Purvis could not stop a good Flamborough run.
Grant’s corner midway through the half was eventually finished by Hurworth after a scramble on the line with the keeper.
There was time for three more goals in the game, the first coming from Gale after a good ball through from Will Richardson.
Hurworth scored the 13th and 14th of the game with assists from Ben Pike and Richardson to take his total to four.
Man of the match: Chris Hurworth for an inspirational game by the captain.
