FYLINGDALES FC failed to capitalise on a bright start in the Sunday League with a terrible start to the game at Filey.
FFC went a goal down in the second minute after failing to defend an early corner.
The Robin Hood’s Bay-based side had a poor first half, finishing it 2-0 down and looking disjointed.
Performances picked up in the second half but it wasn’t enough to overcome a strong, well-organised Filey side who regularly threatened.
Keeper Neil Brearley made a string of excellent saves and substitute Steve Stones looked bright when he came on in the second half but apart from this, FFC had little to celebrate against their bitter rivals.
Substitute and man of the match Sam Asher came on and managed to score a late consolation but the team are going to need to buck their ideas up with a big match against Whitby Town coming up on Sunday at 5pm at the Turnbull Ground.
