FYLINGDALES FC’s recent run of form continued to grow as they destroyed their frustrated rivals FC Filey at Stadio del Thorpe.
FFC have been working hard on creating a solid total football team and their hard work paid off with help from the in-form Danny Shackleton - known as Shack - playing in a new striker role for the club.
Also bang in form Jamie Agar opened the scoring after only five minutes after some great build-up play, shooting from range past a helpless keeper.
Playing downhill in the first half for a change, FFC flowed and attacked the Filey goal persistently.
Steve Stones, who is cementing a role on the right, cut in on 16 minutes and shot hard and low to make it 2-0 in front of his doting wife and daughters.
A buoyant FFC did not let up when a perfect cross from Shackleton met the head of Chris Shardlow who gave the Filey keeper no chance and made the score 3-0.
With Simon Forde being supported by the tireless pace and pressure of Shackleton in attack, the Filey defence became more and more frustrated and great interplay lad to Forde curling home a stunning goal for 4-0 at half-time.
After such a comanding performance and playing uphill, the second half was always going to be tough but FFC continued to press as a solid unit with Shackleton never running low on energy.
He went on to get a deserved goal when a free-kick was given on the edge of the area and Shackleton stepped up to make it five.
FC Filey made the most of a very bored keeper when a chance deflection led to a consolation.
But FFC finished how they started - in style - with a lob over the keeper to round off the scoring at 6-1.
This result will put Fylingdales in second place, having played fewer games than all other teams.
