FISHBURN Park Football Club’s under 14s held their end-of-season presentations at Whitby Rugby Club.
The team had an excellent season, losing just two matches along the way.
In April, they won the County Cup at Whitby Town’s Turnbull Ground after a penalty shoot-out following a thrilling match.
In May they doubled their trophy tally by claiming the Schneider League Cup at Bridlington Stadium after a stunning performance, winning 6-0. They also finished runners-up in the Scarborough and District Minor League.
On the night, the trophies were presented by manager Dave Pike and coach Paul Hewison.
Each player was presented with a club trophy before the main awards took place.
Two players claimed the golden boot award, having each found the net on 15 occasions in 20 games.
The sharp-shooters were midfielder Sam Pike and striker Harry Purves.
Parents’ player of the season award was presented to skipper Sam Pike. Players’ player and managers’ player of the season awards were presented to midfielder Tom Shrimpton who has had a superb season.
Pre-season training has already started at Eskdale School.
If there are any players who would like to try out for the team, contact the manager. Also, the club is desperate for any kind sponsor who may be able to help out with the purchase of new waterproof jackets.
Anybody interested in helping is requested to contact Dave Pike on (01947) 820365 or 07792 947914.
