Whitby Town have completed the signing of centre forward Anthony Hume from West Auckland Town and extended Andy McWilliams’ loan deal.

Blues manager Chris Hardy announced the capture of former Blyth Spartans, Dunston UTS and Seaham Red Star frontman Hume on Thursday afternoon.

“Anthony is a powerful target man and will go straight into the squad for Saturday’s game with Rushall Olympic,” Hardy told the Whitby Gazette.

A player with a proven goalscoring record in the Northern League, Hume has netted 12 goals in 31 appearances for West Auckland in 2015/16.

The Blues have also moved to extend left-back McWilliams’ loan spell from Harrogate Town.

Having originally joined the Seasiders for a month, McWilliams will remain at the Turnbull Ground for a period yet to be confirmed, with boss Hardy hopeful of being able to retain him until the end of the season.

The deal does however now include a clause that allows parent club Harrogate to recall the defender at 24 hours notice.
