Whitby Town go looking for their first win since the opening day of the season when they host Nantwich Town on Saturday, 3pm kick off.

Darren Williams’ men are without a victory in five games, but twice came from behind to claim a battling draw at Frickley last time out.

The Blues boss will have new signing Ben Askins at his disposal after the 19-year-old joined the club on a one-month loan deal from Doncaster Rovers earlier this week.

Askins, who was handed a professional deal at the League One side in 2014, has seen his chances of first team football limited due to injury.

Williams moved to bring in defensive cover after captain Mark Robinson limped out of Monday’s draw at Frickley with a hamstring problem.

Another player with a hamstring injury, Shane Bland, is also set to miss out on Saturday with Middlesbrough loanee Joe Fryer keeping his place in the Town goal.

In last season’s corresponding fixture, the Seasiders won 3-1 thanks to a brace from Dave McTiernan and a Matty Waters strike.

Nantwich, who currently sit sixth in the Evo-Stik Premier Division table, were beaten 2-1 by Buxton in their last outing, on Bank Holiday Monday.

Under-16s will again be admitted to the Turnbull Ground free of charge when accompanied by an adult paying the full £9 charge.

The Seasiders are then on their travels this coming Tuesday when they visit Ashton United for a 7.45pm kick-off.

A supporters’ coach leaves the Turnbull Ground at 2.30pm. To book a place call chairman Graham Manser on 07966241344.
