Black Cats boss picks Beth as top player

HINDERWELL’S Beth Mead capped a fantastic debut season with Sunderland ladies when she was picked as manager Mick Mulhern’s player of the season.

The 17-year-old Whitby Community College student earned the accolade after finishing as the champions’ top-scorer.

She picked up the honour at the club’s annual presentation evening on Saturday night at the Hetton Centre, where individual player awards were presented. and celebrated another very successful season.

Sunderland celebrated a successful season after winning the Keele International Tournament back in July, the Premier League Cup and the FA Women’s National Premier League.

The individual player awards presented were: manager’s player Beth Mead, players’ player Rachael Laws, top goalscorer Beth Mead and

most improved player Keira Ramshaw.
