AFTER a three-month absence to the bad weather, Fishburn Park under 12s made the trip to TSC for a much-needed league match.
It was no surprise to see the team a little ring rusty in the first half and most of Park’s attacking play lacked real quality or purpose.
This meant a quiet half for the home keeper.
TSC were on top but also lacked a cutting edge and it took a mistake in the Park defence for the first goal.
The ball smashed against a TSC forward with the rebound falling right in front of the Park goal for an easy finish.
TSC increased their lead from a Park goalkick as their midfielder went unchallenged and a pass to the unmarked forward resulted in a lobbed effort leaving Humble stranded.
Towards the end of the half, Swales was the provider of a couple of decent through balls down the left for Park with Horne and Didelot starting to penetrate with driving runs, and Horne was pulled back on one occasion for a penalty.
Bannister put the kick away for 2-1 before the break.
The second half saw Park playing some incisive football at times and Didelot in the centre was at the heart of it with some fine passing play, with Swales, Cruz and Bannister also prominent.
Bannister levelled when he latched on to Clennan’s pass and smashed into the roof of the net from 25 yards.
With time running out Bannister had a chance to seal the win from a similar position, this time the ball rebounding back out off the crossbar.
Man of the match: Tommy Didelot – midfield maestro in second half.
