FOLLOWING up their opening day victory, Wanderers were hopeful of maintaining their 100% record against Sunday League strugglers The Albert from Scarborough.
The home side had more possession and created many chances but being unable to finish them off .
But they finally broke the deadlock on the half-hour when Danny Wilson cut in from the right to slot the ball home inside the keeper’s near post.
This lead did not last, as the visitors raised their game and equalised through a deflected shot that looped past a helpless David Fish in the Wanderers goal, followed up by another to leave Albert 2-1 up at the break.
With the wind behind them, Wanderers set to the task of regaining the lead immediately after the break when a left-footed drive from Wilson bamboozled the Albert keeper and nestled into the net just beneath the crossbar.
Wanderers then piled on the pressure and scored two times in quick succession through Simon Taylor and Joe Leadley.
Further chances were not put away by the home side before a breakaway counter attack, with Wanderers committing too many men forward and centre back James Hall bundled the visitors’ striker over in the box for a penalty, which was converted for 4-3 with 20 minutes left.
Both sides managed to create chances with the visitors playing with a renewed confidence and Albert squared with a drive into the top corner of the Wanderers net.
But another breakaway goal in the 85th minute sealed the game in their favour.
