Derwent Valley League set for two-division format

The Derwent Valley Cricket League looks set to become a two-division league in 2015, with Whitby 3rds the only team to quit the league this winter.

The proposed two-division format would see 10 teams playing in the top flight and 11 in division B.

Whitby 3rds, who had played in the old division A, have joined the North Yorkshire & South Durham Cricket League Sunday second division for 2015.

The teams will vote on this format at the annual general meeting at Ayton Sports Association on Tuesday January 27 2015, 7.30pm start.

The proposed division A is; Muston, Lockton, Forge Valley 3rds, Hospitals/Rugby Club, Sewerby 3rds, Flixton 3rds, Wold Newton 2nds, Kirkbymoorside 2nds, Filey 2nds, Sherburn 2nds.

The proposed division B is; Nawton Grange 2nds, Snainton, Cayton 3rds, Scalby 3rds, Muston 2nds, Ravenscar 2nds, Valley Bar Nomads, Wykeham 3rds, Thornton Dale 2nds, Ganton 2nds, Forge Valley 4ths.

The Readers Scarborough Beckett Cricket League AGM is being held on Wednesday January 21 2015 at 7.30pm at the Downe Arms, Wykeham, and the Andy Hire Scarborough Evening Cricket League AGM is on Monday February 2 2015 at 7.30pm at Scarborough CC, North Marine Road.

The Greenwood Hire Derwent Valley Junior Cricket League AGM is on Wednesday February 4 2015 at 7.30pm at Sherburn Cricket Club.
