Mulgrave suffered only their second defeat of their Beckett League campaign, as Fylingdales toppled them by six wickets on Saturday.

N Gibson hit 39 as division B champs Mulgrave reached just 104, mainly due to Pete Stentiford’s 3-44.

R Grove was unbeaten on 70 as Fylingdales marched to derby day success.

Staithes crawled away from the wrong end of the Premier Division table when they beat Forge Valley by two wickets.

Knocks of 88 from Tom Brough and 69 from Dave Morris carried Valley to a solid 200/2 from their overs.

Rich Hegarty’s top score of 67 made sure Staithes took the lion’s share of the points, though spells from C Jackson (3-36) and J White (4-32) pushed them close.

Ebberston 2nds picked up a win by seven wickets against Fylingdales 2nds.

Guy Shrimpton’s unbeaten 53 was the highlight for Fylingdales in their 103.

D Hogarth took three wickets to keep Ebberston on their toes, but A Machen’s 53 helped to see them home.

Ravenscar went without a game as opponents Cloughton 2nds could not raise a team.

Flamborough wrapped up promotion back into the Beckett League with a win by seven wickets against Whitby 3rds in division A of the Derwent Valley League.

Josh Suckling was the only Whitby batsman to shine with his 68 as Harry Burton (4-17) and William Thraves (5-26) bowled them out for 112.

Luke Dixon completed the job for Flamborough when he was not out on 65.

Luke Stokoe and John Nelson were the stars of the show as Ravenscar 2nds beat Ganton 2nds by seven wickets.

Ganton made their way to 161/9, with Robbie Milner’s 41 and Jake Sarup’s 35 being the highlights. Nelson took 5-34 and Stokoe 3-26.

The pair then teamed up with the bat as Stokoe hit 79 and Nelson 60 to make sure of the Ravenscar win.
