The bank holiday weekend is set to be a busy one for Whitby CC 1sts.

The club will contest the North Yorkshire and South Durham Division One 15s Cup final versus Thornaby on Sunday in between league games at Northallerton tomorrow (Saturday) and Great Ayton on Monday.

With five games left to play, Paul Buck side’s currently sit top of the league following a wining draw against Saltburn last weekend.

Whitby’s skipper is well aware that the bank holiday period could make or break his side’s season.

“It’s going to be a bit of a hectic period for us with three games in three days and it could well define our season,” Buck told the Whitby Gazette.

“We’ve been playing well recently so the lads are relatively confident at the moment and we go into this weekend top of the table and in the box seat.

“It’s crunch time for us. A good weekend will set us up very nicely, but if things don’t go so well then we could find ourselves out of the title race.”
