Best foot forward for 200 school youngsters

ALMOST 200 children from 11 schools took part in Whitby and District Primary Schools Sports Association's inter-school cross country at Caedmon School.

This was a very successful event held in perfect conditions on a warm and sunny afternoon at Caedmon School.

A total of 188 children took part from Airy Hill, West Cliff, St Hilda’s, Egton, Danby, Ruswarp, Lythe, East Whitby, Sleights, Castleton and Glaisdale.

There were four races altogether – years three and four girls, boys, years five and six girls and boys.

All the children took part with great enthusiasm and finished the races with broad smiles on their faces.

It was fantastic to see such a great attitude from all local runners.
