SLEIGHTS cricket team has reeled in a brand new sponsor, The Salmon Leap Hotel.
Although previously the cricket team had no sponsor, there have been benefits provided by the funding from the hotel.
The Salmon Leap has provided new shirts and equipment not just for the junior cricket team but for the seniors as well.
The sponsorship deal will last throughout the next two seasons.
The relationship between the hotel and the cricket team has always been a solid one.
The cricket team has often used the The Salmon Leap as a venue for the team's annual dinner and is also the location for the occasional team fund-raising event.
The Salmon Leap Hotel has been run by the same family for the past 20 years.
Sleights youngsters have had a promising season, having reached the semi-finals of the Abbey Sports Trophy.
They knocked out Mulgrave in the previous round.
They were also well placed for a top four finish in the Whitby and district junior league.
It is a competition they have won four times since its inauguration in 1981.
