FISHBURN Park under 13s made it a fantastic double when they won the Schneider Electric Cup last weekend, beating Cayton Cougars 2-0 in the final.
The under 13s bagged the extra silverware after claiming the Scarborough Minor League title by three points.
The team's great record shows not just their ability but their continuity and progress as they topped their table for the second year running.
It was almost an unblemished record as they won 15 of the 16 games they played, losing only one.
The team scored 131 goals and conceded only 12, winning 45 points out of a possible 48.
In last Sunday's final at Bridlington, Fishburn took the lead with a scrappy goal after 21 minutes.
Cayton's keeper was unable to hold on to a corner under heavy pressure from the Fishburn forwards and Jamie Nicholson was on hand to smash home the loose ball.
Cayton worked hard at the start of the second half but Fishburn showed why they are the league champions with a resolute defensive display.
Luke Storr put the game beyond Cayton's reach when he lobbed the keeper from distance midway through the half. Cayton almost pulled a goal back immediately but a good save denied them.
Fishburn kept pressing to add to their tally but held firm at the back when they needed to.
