Teams share honours at Coronation Cup

WHITBY'S two rowing clubs shared the honours in the rain-delayed Coronation Cup races.
Fisherlads came back from a disappointing defeat at Scarborough Regatta to win the ladies, while Friendship claimed the men's over 30s while the men's races were drawn.
Fisherlads won on overall points for all races, not including the men's over 30s
.
Bad weather stopped the two clubs from racing at the first and second times of asking but they finally took place over the space of three nights.
Even with the bad weather, all the races were very well rowed by all crews from both Whitby clubs.
There was only one incident in the men's under 21 novice race where the Friendship sent an ineligible rower who was 21 so the crew was disqualified from the race. This resulted in J Randall's crew coming 4th.
Thanks to Rob Parkin and crew for supplying the safety boat and also to Ken Graham for supplying the starter boat.
