Improving on last week's good winning scores, Peter Easton produced an outstanding 46 points to win the Midweek Stableford last Wednesday.
Mick Christie was his nearest challenger on 42 points, with Neil Suckling, Harvey Richardson, Howard Drake, Matthew Thompson and Des Donnelly on 40.

Saturday’s competition was an am-am, played in teams of four with the best two scores to count on
each hole.

With a 17 under par total of 125, the winning team was Richard Appleton, Mark Greasby, Ian Norman and Paul Warrilow.

This was just one shot ahead of Kevan Stuart, Martin Shackleton, Steve Dosdale and Mike Young.

Two teams scored 128, Peter Easton, Simon Gibson, Chris Booth and Austin James, and Simon Walker, Ian Wiggins, Dean Bennett and Mark Windows.

Sunday was finals day with four matches being played.

Tam McConville and John Littleton were contending for the President’s Putter, but unfortunately John had to concede after a shoulder injury prevented him from continuing.

Simon Grant had the better of Simon Walker in the Beckett Cup, and Mark Greasby beat Mel Purvis to win the Rabbits’ Summer Knockout.

In the afternoon James Jewell and Dean Bennett won the Milburn Foursomes final in a fluctuating match with Robin Sisson and Steve Parkin.

Tomorrow sees the final Monthly Medal of the season and on Sunday the club plays host to the Scarborough & District Alliance for the first fixture of the winter season.

The course will be closed until 1pm.

Members should also note there is a Ladies Open Day today and the course will be closed until 2.30pm.

There will be a Midweek Stableford on Wednesday.

The Whitby team for the first Tigers Alliance is: 8.00 A Pearson & N Inglis; 8.08 S Walker & W Hardy; 8.16 S Purvis & D Bennett; 8.24 J Coulson & T McConville; 10.32 H Drake & W Estill; 11.52 A James & P Easton; 12.00 S Grant & K Stuart; 12.08 M Clarkson & S Ellis. Reserves: A Brown & R Marshall.

The second Alliance meeting is at South Cliff Golf Club on Sunday 19 October.

The entry sheet is on the notice board.

In the Seniors section Bill Nicol beat Les Underwood by a margin of 4 & 2 in a replay of last year’s final.

There will be a four-club Stableford on Tuesday and a Texas Scramble followed by lunch, AGM and the presentation of prizes on Thursday.

The Flamborough & District Rabbits Alliance plays its second event at Whitby on Friday 10 October, and the third round at Driffield on Thursday 23 October.

Entry sheets are on the noticeboard.

The final mixed competition of the season, the Simpson Cup, will take place next Sunday, with starting times from 1pm.

Keen card players please note bridge drives will take place in the clubhouse throughout the winter months on the second Monday of each month, beginning on Monday 13 October at 7pm.

Tim Richardson won £100 in the weekly draw of the 200 Club, with Colin Jefferson winning £200 in the monthly draw.
