SCALING Dam Sailing Club is holding its annual Open Day on Sunday from 11am to 4pm.
This is a fantastic opportunity for people to go out on the water with an experienced dinghy sailor – and it's free.
Adults and children of all ages and abilities are welcome.
There's no need to book – just turn up on the day and wear suitable outdoor clothing.
Meals and snacks will be on sale in the clubhouse throughout the day so people could also go for lunch.
Last year's event attracted more than 120 visitors.
Visitors to this year's open day should not be put off by any bad weather as the club's boats can be sailed safely in a wide range of conditions.
Anyone who is interested in trying dinghy sailing but can't make it to the open day can contact the club via its website www.scalingdam.org
Scaling Dam is halfway between Guisborough and Whitby on the A171 moors road.
