WHITBY Town footballer and ex-manager Lee Nogan starred for a Darlington side at the Metro Radio Arena in this year's Sky Sports Masters competition.
The striker-turned-midfielder led the line for the Quakers who were appearing in their first-ever Masters competition along with Carlisle United last Sunday.
Their first match saw them beat bitter rivals Hartlepool United 1-0 thanks to a goal by Craig Liddle.
And another familiar face in the Darlington line-up was Andy Toman – scorer in Whitby's 1997 FA Vase final over North Ferriby at Wembley – who was also used as a striker.
Darlington's second and final game was against favourites and eventual winners Middlesbrough where they lost 5-1.
The Riversiders went on to beat Newcastle United 5-0 in the final with Craig Hignett notching his third consecutive hat-trick to take his tally to a record-breaking nine goals during the course of the competition.
