GOLDSBOROUGH'S 100% record was finally brought to an end in the league by Loftus Athletic on Saturday.
Both teams struggled to keep possession of the ball in the windy conditions.
Goldsborough, defending against the wind in the first half, held Loftus to a couple of speculative shots from 20 yards, while Goldsborough's wayward passing allowed the Lo
ftus defence to dominate.
Goldsborough started well in the second half with the wind at their backs and scored on 60 minutes when Bowes, on the left flank, turned his man and found the Loftus keeper off his line.
His lobbed shot sailed over the stranded keeper and found the corner of the goal.
Five minutes later, they had a chance to increase their lead when Marsay ran through the Loftus defence but his shot was excellently parried round the post by keeper Cowie.
Loftus equalised on 75 minutes when Goldsborough lost possession in midfield.
The loose ball was played behind the home defence for Sivills to run in on goal, with his shot beating Harland's desperate dive.
A couple of good chances towards the end of the game were squandered by Goldsborough and they had to settle for the one point.
Result: Goldsborough 1 Loftus Ath 1
