As we approach the 98th anniversary of the tragic wreck of HMHS Rohilla off Saltwick Nab, remembering the sad loss of many lives, there is however one heartwarming incident in contrast.
Captain Neilson did his duty and was last to leave the wreck, but in addition to that he rescued the ship’s cat!
Not only did he ensure he carried it off the stricken ship, he managed to keep hold when he was washed into the sea during his rescue.
Do any readers happen to know what subsequently happened to the cat, or even what was its name?
