I would like to say a very special thank you to the organisers of the Christmas tree lights switch-on which took place on Seaton Garth, Staithes, on Sunday 2 December - without the efforts of these very special people we wouldn’t have had this lovely event.
Over the years our beautiful little village has seen many changes.
It gives me, one of the last originals, a feeling that our lovely little village will be kept alive by the people who have come to settle here.
On a very cold evening I was astounded to see the turnout of people of all ages, especially the youngsters who took part enthusiastically in the carol singing accompanied by the Men of Staithes Choir and our compere who did a wonderful job.
The warmed mince pies and mulled wine went down a treat as did the soft drinks.
Thank you all, you did a magnificent job and not forgetting Father Christmas - smartly turned out and warmly welcomed.
