A Blooming Great Tea Party fund-raiser for Marie Curie Cancer Care brought in a total of £1,254.83.
It was held on Sunday 15 July at Sally’s Shop, next to the paddling pool on West Cliff and featured a cake stall, and a tombola draw.
I must thank Sally Bryant for organising the event; the many people who made cakes and the local businesses who donated a very large number of prizes.
There were very many tombola prizes left over, so a second tombola was held at Cross Butts car boot sale on Sunday 29 July.
My thanks to Eileen Morley who gave free use of a pot at the sale and additionally helped at the table sale.
Many thanks also go to all those people who helped at both events.
