I read with interest Emma Spencer’s article “Stretched to breaking point in worst of last winter”, Whitby Gazette 24 June.
I wish to make a number of observations.
On the morning of 21 December last, my wife Pauline had a fall in our home and I called for an ambulance that arrived in minutes around 7am.
The paramedic and the ambulance assistant attended to her in a most competent manner, and after a period of time we set of to Scarborough Hospital as the sun came up.
Within 17 minutes we arrived at Scarborough, thank you NYCC, the road was clear.
However Pauline had passed away, but thank you to the two “Angels” who attended to her that day,
This service should be commended!
