I am researching and writing an article on the Brig Iona that sailed from London on 5 April 1832 bound for Quebec City.
It carried 44 settlers, among them my Great Great Grandparents, William Henry and Ann Whittal Hooker.
The ship was built at Whitby in 1829 and owned by T Parkin Jnr.
The ship’s Master was Hodgson Smith.
Mostly I am looking for an image of this or a similar ship of the time as well as dimensional and construction details of this 218 ton Brig.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
