When “King Winter” made his latest appearance yesterday afternoon, I was on the number 8 bus from Scarborough to Whitby.
As the snow started to build up, driving conditions worsened.
Before long there were cars off the road, stuck lorries and a frustrating line of red tail lights.
In spite of this, our driver, Jim, drove impeccably, as a text book example from the Highway Code.
When he eventually managed to get us down to Boyes to the sound of cheers, we were only about a half hour late.
So all thanks to Jim! I celebrated our safe arrival with haddock and chips and raised my pint to our praiseworthy local
