Letter: Council encourages gull growth in Whitby

A Whitby seagull

At long last, our beloved Scarborough Borough Council is doing something nice for Whitby.

Realising that our endangered gull population are becoming bored with a diet of fish and chips, the borough council are allowing the conversion of the Tourist Information Centre into a fine dining outlet.

The gulls will so enjoy a bit of steak and the odd piece of pork.

I just hope the petrol and diesel fumes from the busy road don’t spoil their appetites.

The risk of methane gas and other things rising from the huge sewerage works under Dock End is another risk.

Oh dear Scarborough Borough Council, another ill judged venture?
