Fines should be enforced

Recently I had a short stay in Whitby, and as a former resident, I should like to say how much I enjoyed the visit, spoilt by one thing - dog dirt!

The fouling seemed to be everywhere, but particularly on the West Cliff. Footsteps had to be chosen very carefully. Most unpleasant, also a health hazard, particularly in children.

Surely dog owners could become more responsible and perhaps fines could be enforced?
