A group of women have raised hundreds of pounds for a local mountain rescue team which was called out to help one of their members earlier this year when she fell while out walking her dog.

On behalf of the Yorkshire County Women’s Association, treasurer Irene Williams and chairman Suzanne Hansell presented a cheque to the Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue Team following a coffee morning in Aislaby attended by over 60 people and which raised over £425 thanks to sales of tea, coffee, cakes , scones and a raffle and tombola.

The group meets every second Tuesday of the month at Aislaby Parish Hall from 7.15pm.
